Become a beta tester.

We're testing new Bill & Payday Tracker features before they go live. You don't need any technical background — just a willingness to click around, try to break things, and tell us what happened. Anyone can do this.

Free access while you test

Active testers get free full access — until you've found 6 verified bugs or 1 year has passed, whichever comes first. That's when the free program ends.

$10 per 3 verified bugs (up to $20)

Find and document 3 bugs we can confirm, and we'll pay you $10 for the set via PayPal or Venmo — up to $20 total across your first 6 verified bugs, matching the free-access cap above. Found something especially valuable? We may pay $3 per bug individually instead, at our discretion.

Short sessions

Please don't spend more than 30 minutes at a time testing. Short, focused sessions catch more real-world issues than one long marathon.

Break it on purpose

Try entering both numbers and letters in every field, even ones that expect only numbers (like bill amounts). Weird input is exactly what we need tested.

Ground rules
  • No experience required — if you can use a website, you can beta test.
  • Test in short sessions — 30 minutes max at a time. Come back later for more.
  • Try both numbers and letters in every input field, especially ones meant for numbers only.
  • A bug only counts as "verified" once you've reproduced it at least twice, on two separate logins/accounts.
  • Document what you find using the bug report format below — vague reports ("it's broken") can't be paid out.
  • Duplicate reports of a bug someone already found don't qualify for payment, but still say thanks — it confirms the bug.
  • Payment and free access are issued once we've confirmed the bug ourselves.
  • Free access lasts until you've found 6 verified bugs or 1 year has passed, whichever comes first.
A typical bug report

Use this format when you email us or use the contact form to report a bug. The more detail, the faster we can confirm and pay it out.

Bug Report Form
Bug title
Bill amount field accepts letters and doesn't show an error
Where it happened
Setup tab → Bills → Add bill → Amount field
Steps to replicate
1. Go to Setup → Bills → Add bill
2. Type "abc123" into the Amount field
3. Fill in the rest of the form and click Save
4. Bill saves with a broken amount instead of showing an error
Expected vs. actual
Expected: an error telling me to enter a number. Actual: the bill saved anyway and now shows "$0.00" on the calendar.
Reproduced on 2 separate logins?
Yes — Login #1 (test account A)
Yes — Login #2 (test account B)
Device / browser
iPhone 14, Safari — also happened on a Windows laptop, Chrome
Screenshot (optional but helpful)
Attach a screenshot or screen recording if you can
Other items worth testing

Odd number formats

Negative numbers, decimals, huge numbers, $0, and blank fields where a number is expected.

Letters & symbols

Try letters, spaces, emojis, and special characters (like $ % # &) in name and note fields.

Refresh & back button

Refresh mid-form, or hit your browser's back button after saving. Does anything get lost or duplicated?

Phone vs. desktop

Try the same steps on your phone and on a computer — sometimes a bug only shows up on one.

Multiple accounts

Switch between your 3 accounts and make sure bills, paydays, and balances don't cross over.

Dark mode

Toggle dark mode on and off and check that every screen still looks and reads correctly.

Frequently asked questions

Still wondering about something? Here are the answers to the most common questions.

Do I need a credit card to start the free trial?
No credit card is required to start your 90-day free trial. Sign up with just your email and a password and you get full access to every feature immediately. You'll only need a payment method if you choose to subscribe after the trial ends.
What happens after my 90-day trial ends?
At the end of your 90-day free trial you can choose a monthly plan: Solo ($7.99/mo, just you), Family ($12.99/mo, share with up to 3), or Assistant ($16.99/mo, share with up to 10). A Business plan (share with up to 25) is currently in development. Your data — all of your bills, accounts, and payday settings — is saved and ready the moment you subscribe. If you choose not to subscribe, your account becomes read-only until you do.
What's the difference between the plans?
Every plan includes exactly the same features — there's no stripped-down tier. The only difference is how many people you can share the account with: Solo is just you, Family covers up to 3 people, and Assistant up to 10, each with their own per-person read or write permissions. A Business plan (up to 25 people) is in development.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes, you can cancel any time from your account settings. All plans are billed monthly, so you'll retain access until the end of the current billing period. We don't charge cancellation fees and there is no refund after 4 months of paid use, not including the free trial.
How many accounts can I manage?
Every plan — including the free trial — supports up to 3 separate accounts. Each account has its own bills, payday schedule, and balance. You can switch between them instantly from the top bar, or compare them side by side in the Compare view.
Is my financial data safe?
Yes. Your data is stored securely and is only accessible to your account — we use encrypted connections and secure authentication for every request. We never sell your data or share it with third parties. Your bill amounts and account information stay private to you.
Does it connect to my bank?
No — Bill & Payday Tracker does not connect to your bank account and does not require any bank login credentials. You enter your bills and paydays manually. This keeps your banking information completely private and means the app works regardless of who you bank with.
What does "available funds" mean in the app?
Available funds is calculated from your carry-in balance plus any paychecks received so far this month, minus any bills already due and paid. It tells you what you realistically have to work with right now — Remember you are not entering cash you use for snacks, coffee, etc so in reality you have less funds available. You are responsible for figuring this out. You can add every bill you have however it might look messy. Try to stay under 20 bills or so.
How do I reset my password?
To reset your password you'll need your registered email address and your account ID number (shown in the upper right of the daily summary popup when you sign in). Keep both of these handy — contact support with them and we'll help you regain access quickly.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes — Bill & Payday Tracker is fully responsive and works on any modern smartphone, tablet, or desktop browser. No app download required. Just open it in your browser and it adapts to your screen size automatically.

Our honest self-analysis

We compared Bill & Payday Tracker against other bill tracking apps and wrote up what we found — the good and the not-so-good. We think you deserve a straight answer before you sign up.

What sets us apart from other bill trackers
Payday projection
We calculate exactly how much you'll have on payday — after most bills due before it are subtracted. Most bill trackers show what's due. We show what you'll have left. That's a different and more useful number.
Daily welcome summary
Every sign-in opens a daily briefing — available funds, next payday countdown, and every unpaid bill this month. Most apps show a static dashboard. We greet you with today's picture, every day.
Net pay auto-calculation
Enter your gross paycheck — the app estimates your take-home after federal, state, and Social Security taxes. Most competitors make you figure out your net pay yourself and enter it manually.
Low-funds alert with threshold
Set a dollar threshold and the app fires a full-screen alert the moment your available balance drops below it — before a payment bounces, not after. Most apps only show you history.
3 separate accounts in one login
Manage checking, savings, a partner's account — each with its own bills, paydays, and balance. Compare them side by side in one screen. Most bill trackers assume one household, one account.
No bank connection required
Privacy-first by design. No Plaid, no OAuth, no read access to your bank. You enter your own data and it stays yours. Works with any bank or credit union.
Bulk bill upload
Add your entire bill list at once — paste in a list and most get added in seconds. This feature is rare in this category and saves significant setup time.
How we compare to 10 popular bill tracking & budgeting apps

We researched the 10 apps people most commonly compare against a bill tracker — Rocket Money, Monarch Money, Copilot Money, PocketGuard, Prism, Quicken Simplifi, YNAB, EveryDollar, Empower, and Honeydue — based on their published pricing and feature pages as of mid-2026. Here's how our approach differs, feature by feature.

App Price Bank sync required Payday projection Auto net-pay calc Bulk bill entry

*Optional bank sync — these apps can be used with manual entry, but their budgeting model (auto-categorization, spending trends) is built around linking accounts and works best that way. Pricing and features change frequently; this reflects each app's publicly listed pricing/feature pages as of mid-2026 rather than hands-on testing of every app. "Payday projection" means calculating your available balance specifically on your next payday after subtracting bills due before it — not just showing a running balance.

The pattern across the board
Every one of these 10 apps is built around bank-account syncing and general budgeting/spending analysis. None of them calculate a payday-specific projected balance or estimate your net take-home pay from a gross paycheck automatically. That's not a knock on them — they're solving a broader problem (where did my money go, help me budget) — but if your specific question is "will I have enough on payday after these bills clear," none of the 10 answer that directly the way we do.
What we do well
Simple, fast setup — 7 bills + 1 paycheck and you're running
No feature tiers — every plan includes everything
90-day free trial — generous vs. the 7–14 day industry standard
Works on any device — no app download, no install
Privacy-focused — no bank linking, you own your data
Honest pricing — $7.99–$16.99/mo depending on how many people you share with, no surprise fees
Automated email alerts for low funds, negative balance, and missed payments — checked daily even if you don't log in
What we don't do yet
No automatic transaction import — entry is mostly manual
No day-to-day spending tracking — not a replacement for Mint or YNAB
No "bill due in 3 days" reminders — our alerts cover financial risk (low funds, negative balance, missed payment), not upcoming due dates
No spending history or 12-month trend reports
No in-app chat between shared users — sharing supports per-person read/write permissions, but not messaging
Bottom line

Bill & Payday Tracker isn't trying to be YNAB or Monarch. It fills a specific gap — "I just want to know if I'll make it to payday" — and, based on our research into 10 popular alternatives, none of them answer that question as directly as we do. The payday projection, net-pay auto-calculation, and daily welcome summary are genuinely different from what the competition offers. We've also closed our biggest previous gap: automated email alerts for low funds, negative balance, and missed payments now run daily, whether or not you log in. What's still missing is a simple "this bill is due in 3 days" reminder — that's next on our roadmap. We're being honest with you because we'd rather have users who are the right fit than users who are disappointed.
